What is a LVDS cable?

LVDS cable is used to transmit low voltage differencesignal cable, because of low voltage and good signal, shielding effect is mainly used in the connection between the screen and the motherboard, more used in LCD, LCD TV, laptop computer.

LVDS, namely Low Voltage Differential Signaling, is a low-voltage differential signaling technology interface. It is a digital video signal transmission mode developed by the National Semiconductor Corporation of the United States in order to overcome the shortcomings such as large power consumption and large EMI electromagnetic interference when transmitting broadband high bit rate data by TTL level.

The LVDS output interface uses a very low voltage swing (about 350mV) on two PCB traces or a pair of balanced cables to transmit data through differential, that is, low-voltage differential signal transmission. The LVDS output interface allows the signal to be transmitted at a rate of several hundred Mbit/s on differential PCBwire or balanced cables. Because of the low voltage and low current driving mode, low noise and low power consumption are achieved. The LVDS output interface has been widely used in 17 inch and above LCD displays.

LVDS screencable were divided into single 6 position, double 6 position, single 8 position and double 8 position. We take the first letters of the English Single and Doubel to name the list 6-S6, double 6-D6, single 8-S8, double 8-D8 respectively.

LVDS screen cable is composed of three parts: VCC (power cable, generally red), GND (ground cable, generally black), and differential signal (generally multiple groups of blue and white twisted pair). If the blue and white twisted pair of differential signal is 4 groups, it corresponds to single 6-S6; If the blue and white twisted pair of differential signal is 5 groups, the corresponding single 8-S8; If the blue and white twisted pair of differential signal is 8 groups, it corresponds to double 6-D6; If the differential signal blue and white twisted pair is 10 groups, it corresponds to double 8-D8.
